"Remembering Abby Jo:

Every so often you meet someone who leaves an unforgettable mark on your life.  For us at Five Saints, that person was Abby Weiss.  We met Abby almost a year ago when she applied for and became one of our mixologists at Five Saints.  One could say, Abby, holding down two jobs, completing a degree later in life, raising a teenage son, and catching a wink of sleep when possible, by outward appearances never had a bad day.  We grew to love Abby Jo as she was affectionally nicknamed.

With heavy hearts, we are saddened to say that Abby passed away unexpectedly and way too early.  She leaves behind her 15-year-old son Mason, her mother Charlotte, her sister, her significant other, and unfortunately debt and now medical and funeral expenses.

We are grieving but we have also decided that we can do something to help Abby’s family deal with their financial burden and the future costs of raising her son Mason.  To do this, we have created a non-profit fund page “Remembering Abby Jo” that allows all of us the opportunity to share what we can to celebrate her life, and help to alleviate the financial burden on the family she leaves behind.  100% of all donations will go directly to Abby’s family.

We are reaching out to Abby’s friends, our Five Saints Friends, and everyone who celebrates and respects hard work, perseverance, and a spirit that never quit even when facing seemingly insurmountable odds, to donate whatever you can.  Abby’s Five Saints family has kicked off this fundraiser with a $2,000 donation.

Funds received will be used to address hospital and funeral expenses, as well as current living expenses and future education expenses for Mason.

From Abby’s family both at home and at Five Saints, we thank you all and God Bless."
